Russian State Curriculum

The Russian programme is included in the list of programnes recommended by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and includes the following levels of general education:

Primary general education (grades 1-4) is aimed at the formation of personality, the development of the individual abilities of each child, positive motivation and skills in educational activities (reading, writing, counting, basic skills of educational activities, elements of theoretical thinking, the simplest skills of self-control, culture of behaviour and speech, the basics of personal hygiene and a healthy lifestyle). Students study the following subjects in Russian:
- Russian language
- Literature/Reading
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
Basic general education (grades 5-9) is aimed at the formation of personality, the development of students' interests, the formation of a holistic view of the world, based on the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities. During this period, Students acquire basic knowledge in program disciplines:

At the end of this educational level, students have to pass the main state exam - OGE in four subjects: two of which are compulsory (Maths and Russian language) and two are optional.
Secondary general education (grades 10-11) provides in-depth training in various subjects. Students continue to study basic subjects and prepare for university entrance.
At all levels of education, such subjects as Music, PE and Arts are taught in English.
At the end of grade 11, students take 2 compulsory exams in the EGE format (Russian and mathematics). This is the basis for getting a certificate, which confirms that Students have covered the program, and contains a list of marks for all subjects studied.
