Cambridge English programme enables learners to communicate confidently and effectively and to develop the critical skills to respond to a range of information, media and texts with understanding and enjoyment.
Depending on the needs of the child, he or she may study English as a First Language or English as a Second Language. Eventually however, the goal remains the same — to develop complete first- language competency as well as a qualification in English. The Mathematics curriculum framework explores five content areas: number, geometry, measure, handling data and problem solving.
This curriculum focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships so that learners can apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the subject. Central to the Cambridge Primary Mathematics Curriculum is the development of real-life problem- solving skills, and understanding concepts, not just procedures.
The Science curriculum framework covers four content areas: scientific enquiry, biology, chemistry and physics. Enquiry is central to the Cambridge Primary Science Curriculum, and students will learn not only to plan and do experiments, but also to critically evaluate the scientific work of others.
Global Perspectives is a relatively new subject provided by Cambridge, and is taught to all students in Years One to Six.
