International Curriculum
Cambridge Programme
Heritage School has undergone the process of external accreditation. This provides students with the opportunity to study under an international programme, and allows graduates to take Cambridge exams, the results of which are accepted by many universities worldwide.
The Cambridge International Curriculum offers students at Heritage International School the chance to acquire an educational experience similar to that of students in British schools. Instruction is conducted in English.
In Primary School, teachers and students together explore new knowledge through practical tasks, developing critical thinking skills and conducting scientific experiments. Children acquire skills in creative and critical thinking, learn effective communication, and interact with their classmates and society. Education at the primary school level prepares children for secondary school and takes on a more academic form than in the early stages.
At this stage, all students study 8 subjects:
English Language | Mathematics | Science | Global Perspectives |
Digital Literacy | Physical Education | Music | Art and Design |
Lower Secondary School
In Lower Secondary School, students continue their education by applying the knowledge and skills they acquired in primary school to more complex subjects. The curriculum covers a wide range of cultural contexts and develops logical thinking. Students engage in research and project-based activities through the study of subjects such as global perspectives, art and design, and computer literacy.
Upper Secondary School
In the Upper Secondary School, students further expand and deepen their knowledge base. They are offered a wide range of subjects that focus on developing analytical abilities, such as finding, evaluating, and comparing information from different sources, as well as analyzing and making complex decisions.
Liberal Arts
The unique program developed by Heritage International School helps students at all stages of their education to develop flexibility of mind and find joy in learning. Children acquire the skills necessary for successful academic and career pursuits, including critical thinking, research abilities, and collaboration.
The study of liberal arts begins in Year 1 and provides additional advantages in preparation for A Level exams and further education. This course is focused on developing an understanding of human nature and the world that surrounds us. In liberal arts classes, children explore history, geography, and other humanities disciplines, and learn to critically engage with the material through research skills. We teach children to express their own viewpoints, engage in discussions, and demonstrate empathy and compassion towards others.
Cambridge Global Perspectives
This innovative and stimulating course goes beyond traditional subjects. Lessons involve teamwork, creating presentations, and projects. The emphasis is on developing the ability to analyze current issues. Students conduct their own research and discuss important global questions. We teach children to understand that there are different perspectives and it is important to be able to analyze them.
The Global Perspectives program develops research, evaluation, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. It shows the connection between different subjects, including English language, mathematics, natural sciences, and computer literacy. Teaching global perspectives to younger students allows for the development of an understanding of interdisciplinary connections from an early age.
Exams
At the age of 16 (upon completion of Year 11), our students take the Cambridge IGCSE exams - the most popular qualification exams for teenagers worldwide. They include certification in a minimum of 5 subjects. IGCSE offers students more options for choice than any other international exams. This means more subjects to choose from, more learning options, and more pathways to success.
The Cambridge A Level exams are taken upon completion of Year 13. Typically, students take exams in 3 or 4 subjects, choosing from over 50 disciplines. Thousands of students worldwide secure places in leading universities every year thanks to the international Cambridge qualifications of AS and A Levels.
